Compassionate psychotherapy for everyday life
Based in Albany and the East Bay,
offering in-person sessions and online therapy throughout California
Do you find yourself:
Feeling stressed and overwhelmed by everyday life
Paralyzed by constant worries about your future
Lacking the motivation and energy to enjoy the things you once loved
Feeling disconnected from your loved ones
Worried that you're damaging your relationships
Struggling to find meaning and purpose in your life
Telling yourself you should be more present, more patient, or make more time for yourself and your loved ones
Hoping to will yourself into making self-improvements, only to end up feeling like a failure
You are not alone! I've helped many clients just like you invest in their relationship with themselves and improve their connections with others. In our sessions together, you'll learn to slow down, reconnect with your core values, break free from unhelpful patterns, heal your inner self, and make lasting changes toward a healthier, happier everyday life.
Find happiness and learn to put it first
I offer in-person therapy services to individuals and couples at my office in Albany, or virtual sessions to anyone in California through a secure, confidential platform. Additionally, I offer walk-and-talk sessions in nature if you're in the Bay Area. We can even create a hybrid schedule where we sometimes meet virtually and other times in person. Whatever way works for you, I can help guide you toward the change you've been wanting in your life.

Start by scheduling a free 15-minute video consultation with me. This is a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you have and for me to understand what led you to seek therapy.
If we decide that we're a good match, we'll arrange a full 50-minute session, which can be either in-person or online through a secure platform. Before we meet, I'll send you an electronic intake packet that you can complete at your own pace.
In our first session, we'll dive deeper into what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. From there, we can plan for ongoing weekly sessions. The duration of your therapy journey will depend entirely on your individual needs and goals.
-
Initial Consultation: The process begins with an initial session where you and your therapist discuss your concerns, goals, and what you hope to achieve from therapy. This helps the therapist understand your needs and create a personalized approach.
Building a Connection: Over time, you and your therapist build a trusting, supportive relationship, which is the foundation for effective therapy. Feeling safe and understood is key to making progress.
Exploration: You'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to understand the underlying patterns and triggers. This self-reflection helps you gain insight into the issues that may be holding you back.
Developing Strategies: Together, you and your therapist will develop coping strategies and techniques to help you manage challenges and make positive changes in your life.
Putting Skills into Practice: You'll practice these new skills both during sessions and in your daily life. The therapist will guide you in making gradual changes that lead to healthier thinking and behavior patterns.
Review and Adjust: As therapy progresses, you'll regularly review your goals and the progress you've made. The therapist may adjust the approach as needed to ensure you’re moving toward your desired outcomes.
Building Independence: Eventually, the focus shifts to empowering you to use what you've learned independently, so you feel more confident in handling future challenges on your own.
Ending Therapy: When you and your therapist feel you've met your goals, you'll discuss ending therapy. You'll have the tools and strategies you need to maintain your progress and continue growing.

Sessions typically last 45-50 minutes, although we may meet for a bit longer if there’s a crisis. For couples looking to work more intensively on their goals, I also offer 75-minute sessions.
Therapy is most effective when you prioritize your session time and meet regularly with your therapist, ideally at least once a week. Over time, as progress is made, we may transition to meeting biweekly before eventually concluding our work together. It's also common for clients to return to therapy after a break, either to check in or to address new challenges life may bring.
The length of time you spend in therapy will depend on your unique needs and goals. While I generally encourage clients to commit to at least six months, many have also found success with shorter-term therapy models.
